2026 Prosser Piranhas Swim Team Parent/Guardian/Swimmer Rules & Expectations

Swimmer(s) Agrees:

• I will swim for fun and will work hard to improve my skills.
• I will always respect the rules, my opponents, coaches and officials. I will not argue with any decisions.
• I understand that the event in which I swim are at the discretion of the coaching staff and I may not be swimming in every race I sign up for.
• I understand my coach makes decisions in my best interest and will work diligently to help my meet my goals for the season and that I need to work hard towards them also.
• I will not boo, taunt or yell negative comments about my team, my coach, the opponents or the

  officials.

• I will support and respect my teammates and tell them when they are swimming well.
• I will arrive on time for all practices and meet and let the coaches know in advance if I will be absent,

  arriving late or leaving early.

• I will not engage in horseplay or other activities that might distract from or bring dishonor to myself,

  my team, or community at practice or meets and/or that might lead to injury of other swimmers,

  coaches, officials or other individuals.

• I will swim in the events and heats assigned to me at meets.
• I will always remember that winning isn’t everything and that as long as I try to do my best, I am always

  a winner. Parent/Guardian Agrees:

• I will inform the coach/team of any disability or injury that may affect the safety of my child or the safety of others.
• I (and my guests) will be a positive role model for my child and encourage sportsmanship, respect, courtesy and support for all swimmers, coaches, officials and spectators at practice and meets.
• I will demand that my child treat other swimmers, coaches, officials and spectators with respect regardless of race, creed, color, sex or ability.
• I will respect the officials and coaches and never question or confront them at meets.
• I will work at meets so that my child and others can have an enjoyable experience.

  We also agree that if we fail to abide by the aforementioned rules and guidelines, we will be subjected to disciplinary action that could include, but is not limited to, the following:

• Verbal warning
• Written warning
• Probation for a period of time
• Suspension for one or more meets
• Suspension for the rest of the season

  If a swimmer is suspended the league will be notified in writing of the suspension and the reasons for it.

• There is a 4-meet requirement to stay a member of the Piranhas. To maintain your status as a member of the team, you are required to attend 4 out of the 12 meets minimum.
