What Do I Bring to a Meet?
Whether you're a first-time Piranha Parent, or a veteran, it's always helpful to know what you should plan to have with you at each meet, be it at home or away.
- Your Swimmer - This is most important!
- Their swimsuit, goggles, cap, and towel
- Sweats or other easy-on/easy-off clean clothing. Jackets are helpful, too!
- Snacks - fruit, granola bars, food easy to eat in between races, without making a ton of mess
- Drinks - water, Gatorade, Powerade, etc. Resealable and/or reusable plastic bottles. are good. We want to keep them hydrated - swimming dries them out!
- Seating - lawn chairs, blankets, sleeping bags, stadium seats for Toppenish & Sunnyside where they have bleachers.
- Easy-ups - Whether it's cold and windy, or hot & sunny, shelter is useful.
- $$ if your or your swimmers want to purchase anything from concessions.
Remember to check weather reports for meet locations. Tomorrow in Toppenish is supposed to be cool and windy - so bring extra sweats, blankets and more than one towel per swimmer!
If you ordered swim gear for your kids, we are planning to have it at Toppenish for pick-up, then at practice on Wednesday morning - but have your child dress in easy-on/easy-off dry clothes, just in case the full order isn't quite ready (we overwhelmed the shop with our enthusiastic support!).
